2.- Janko Erlich (29 years old), our "azzurro" in ski jumping died
In the early age of 29 Janko Erlich died tragically in Berlin. Janko was Italian junior and senior ski jumping national representative. He was employed in a gas company , which he worked for in Germany.

6.- Chess, Nova Gorica: Pino Lakovič 7th, Igor Lakovič 24th
Chess-Nova Gorica: at the international tournament in Nova Gorica our best chess player Pino Laco Lakovič ranked 7th in the category B among 75 players (6 points) whereas Igor Lakovič ranked 24th (5 points).

6.- Our "azzurri" awarded at the Municipality of Trieste
Trieste; at the Municipality of Trieste there was the annual awarding of the Trieste azzurri. 75 2009 azzurri were awarded, including seven of our representatives; the sailors Jaš Farneti and Simon Sivitz Košuta, the skaters Tanja Romano and Francesca Roncelli, the diver Ivana Curri, the roller skater Mateja Bogatec and the rower Ester Gaggi Slokar.

8.- Skiing - 2nd race of the Primorska Cup: a lot of participants despite of bad weather
Skiing; Stari vrh (Slovenia); in the organisation of SK Kalič there was on Stari vrh near Škofja Loka
the 2nd race of the Primorska Cup valid also for the Miškot Cup. Despite of the bad weather there were a lot of competitors from 13 clubs.

9. - Volleyball. Reception at the Municipality of Gorica for the Olympia Under 14 team
Volleyball; Gorica; Gorica Mayor Ettore Romoli receiwed at the Municipality the Olympia Under 14 team, which has won the Regional Cup.

10. - Soccer: Edy Reja is the new coach of Lazio in the First League
Soccer; Rome; our coach from Ločnik nera Gorica Edy Reja has cancelled the contract with Hajduk from Split and is the new coach of Lazio in the First League. He replaced the former coach Ballardini. Reya who has already trained some Italian First League teams like Genoa, Catania and Cagliari and achieving his best successes with Napoli, will coach Lazio till June 2011.

11. - Albert Kerpan in the team for the National Topolino Trophy
Skiing; the regional selector Busolini published the names of the skiers who will take part in the national finals of the Topolino Trophy the 26th and 27th February in Panarotta, Levico Terme.These include Albert Kerpan (Mladina) who ranked 8th at the qualifications in Zoncolan. The Topolino Trophy and Ostržek na snegu are the two most important national and international events in the Alps.

11.- Chess - 228 participants in three tournaments of the Žiga Zois schoolnet
Chess; 228 students (94 for primary , 71 for lower secondary and 63 for high schools) competed in the three schoolnet tournaments organised by the Žiga Zois school. The high number of participants shows the increasing interest in chess among young people.

17. - ZSSDI conference: Due to financial crisis Zbornik 2009 will not be published and there won't be any contributions for our website either!
Trieste; the financial topic was throughout present at the last meeting of the executive committee of ZSŠDI. Due to the financial crisis Zbornik 2009 will not be published and there won't be any contributions for our website either.

18.- Chess; European Veteran Team Championship Italy with Pino Lakovič ranked 9th
Chess; Dresden (Germany); European Veteran Championship;among 78 teams from all over Europe
Italy ranked 9th. Our chess player Pino Lakovič who played on the fourth chessboard won five times , twice he played even and lost twice.The winner was Russia, followed by Switzerland and Finland. For Switzerland played also Korčnoj.

19./20. - Diving: Sofia Carciotti excellent second
Diving; Bozen; Italian Indoor Championship; Sofia Carciotti ho dives for trieste Tuffi ranked 2nd with 253,50 points.There were 77 competitors from 18 clubs. The winner was Beatrice Atzei, Di Biasi, and the difference bertween the two was only 14 points.

20.-Skiing, Zamejsko prvenstvo: Alexander Cossutta and Lara Purič (both Mladina) absolute champions
Skiing; Forni di Sopra; at the The Zamejsko prvenstvo for the ZSŠDI Cup organised by SK Devin participated more tran 200 Brdina, Devin, Mladina and DG skiers. The absolute champions are Alexander Cossutta and Lara Purič (both Mladina). The youth champions are Albert Kerpan (Mladina) and Alessia Fantini (SPDG).The best club was SK Devin. 21.- The sports worker Peter Rogelja left us
Šempolaj (Nabrežina); at the age of 55 the sports worker Peter Rogelja died if a heart attack at his home in Šempolaj.He was for many years member of the commitee of ŠD Kontovel and he also offered an important help to the basketball club ŠZ Jadran. Our sport and primarely our basketball post a valuable and very popular person.

21.- Table tennis, National Youth Tournament Tjaša Doljak second, Claudia Micolaucich third
Table tennis; Terni; at the National Youth Tournament Tjaša Doljak ranked second and Claudia Micolucich was third. The two youngest Kras players Kevin Bruni and Marco Capella took also part in the tournament but they did not achieve important results.

25.- Cycling: 34th ZSŠDI Trophy Cycling Race press-conference
In the Cultural centre in Lonjer, at the presence of numerous guests and lovers of cycling, there was
the 34th ZSŠDI Trophy Cycling Race press-conference organized by KK Adria. The race will take place on Sunday 7th March with the start and the end in Lonjer. 198 cyclists from 25 teams are coming from all over Europe.

26.- Cheerdance Millenium now in the Italian Dance Federation, Nikol Križmančič in the European Federation Committee
The Slovenian acrobatik club left the FISACA and became member of the Italian Dance Federation FIDS, the newest federation of the Italian Olympic Committee.An important reward is also the election of Nikol Križmančič in the European Cheerleading Federation.

27. - Table tennis - A2: Kras ZKB won in Novara and was promoted to A1 League, Eva Carli beat the Chinese player
The Kras team which was promoted to the A1 League: Yuan Yuan, Eva Carli and Martina Milič
A2, women: Regaldi - Kras ZKB 2 : 4 (Yuan Yuan 2, Eva Carli 1,Martina Milič); Good job done by Eva Carli who beat the local Chinese player. With this victory, after only one season in the A2 League, Kras was promoted to the A1 League three rounds before the end of the championship.
