7. VOLLEYBALL: LORIS MANIA LEAVES THE ITALIAN NATIONAL TEAM
Volleyball; in the inteview published by The Primorski Dnevnik on 8th Aug. 2010 our volleyball player Loris Mania declares that he leaves the Italian national team. In the fast matches of the World League he played very little or hardly over. It is true, that during the preparation period he had pains in his knee, but in the final part of the World League in Argentina he completely recovered, but the national selector didnt insert him in the team.

6. STAIRCASE IN THE CENTER OF GORICA NAMED AFTER JURIJ URŠIČ (GIORGIO URSI)
Gorica; following the proposal of the member of the Municipality of Gorica Cosma the staircase in the centre of Gorica between Brass Street and Cadorna Street was named after Jurj Uršič (Giorgio Ursi). Our cyclist (in the photo) won the silver medal at the Olympics in Tokyo in 1964 and he is the only one among our athletes, with Matej Černic, who has so far won any medal at the Olympic Games.

14./20 SAILING, JUNIOR EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP, CLASS 470, GOLDEN GROUP, JAŠ AND SIMON DISQUALIFIED THE LAST DAY AND RANKED 10TH
Sailing; La Rochelle (France), European Youth Championship, olympic class 470, golden group: the seventh and last day (Friday) the Čupa sailors Jaš Farneti and Simon Sivitz Košuta (in the photo) were disqualified due to sailing irregularities. They finished the championship ranking 10th.
