1. SOLEMN OPENING OF THE NEW FOOTBALL FIELD IN SOVODNJE
Sovodnje; Lots of people and guests attended tne solemn opening of the new football field in Sovodnje. The official speech was held by the Sovodnje Mayor Alenka Florenin.

3. PRESENTATION OF S. TAVČARS BOOK ABOUT THE YUGOSLAVIAN BASKETBALL

3./4. SAILING, REGATA TRIESTE - BRIONI - TRIESTE: FANATIC IS THE WINNER
Sailing; Barkovlje (Trieste): After five years the TPK Sirena organized again the regata Trieste -Brioni - Trieste, to which partecipated 15 crews of the categories Open and IRC.The winner was Fanatic, Cativic ranked second, the third was Marinariello (Sirena).

5. KAYAK, SOŠKA REGATA: 303 PARTICIPANTS
Kayak: KK Šilec and KK Soške elektrarne organized the 25th jubilee regata on the river Soča from Solkan to Podgora. Sunny weather has helped to the success of the race as 303 participants gathered at the start in Solkan.

7./ 11. CHESS, 12TH INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL IN TRIESTE, PINO LACO LAKOVIČ RANKED 17TH
Chess; Trieste; at the 12th International festival Pino Lakovič (in the photo) ranked seventh among 42 chess players in the A group with 5 points. The winner was the Ukraine grandmaster Jurij Kuzubov. The other Slovenian chess players played in group B (60 participants) and ranked as following: 42th Mitja Petaros 4 points, 49th Marco Oblak 3 points, 52th Cristina Sustersich 2,5 points, Tjaša Oblak 2,5 points.

10./12. SKIROLL, WORLD CUP: MATEJA BOGATEC, 5th IN SPRINT,LEAVES THE NATIONAL TEAM
Skiroll; Cuneo, World Cup: on Friday Nicola Iona (Mladina) raced for the first time with the Italian national team. He ranked 25th (25 participants) in the 15km long country race. On Saturday Mateja Bogatec (in the photo) ranked 6th at the 20 km Senior race in the center of Cuneo. Niki Hrovatin was 21st, while Nikola Iona was 22nd among the Juniors. On Sunday Mateja Bogatec ranked 5th in sprint and announced she was giving up racing with the Italian national team.

VOLLEYBALL, BAZOVIŠKE ŽRTVE TOURNAMENT, THE WINNERS: ZREČE (WOMEN) AND SLOGA TABOR (MEN)

Zreče - women and Sloga Tabor - men are the winners of the successful international tournament Bazoviške žrtve organized by ŠZ Sloga and to which participated 12 women and men teams. Due to heavy rain and floods in the Repen gym hall the final matches were played in Opčine and Briščiki.
Final ranking: Men: 1st Sloga Tabor, 2nd Gornja Vežica, 3rd Mežica, 4th Olympia, 5th Sloga
Women: 1st Zreče, 2nd Kontovel, 3rd Grobničan, 4th Sloga, 5th Bor/Breg, 6 Avi de Witt

25. SKATING, EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP: FRANCESCA RONCELLI FOURTH IN THE FREE PROGRAMME
Skating; Barcellona (Spain), European Championship; the skater Francesca Roncelli (in the photo), who skates for the club Gioni from Trieste, ranked 4th in the free programme and 9th in the short programme. The winner was the Italian skater and the World champion Debora Sbei, second was Annalisa Graziosi (Italy), third Marine Portet (France). The Polet skater Tanja Romano did not participate; results(pdf)

23./26 SAILING, ITALIAN CHAMPIONSHIP, CLASS 470: SIMON AND JAŠ FIRST AMONG THE JUNIORS AND SEVENTH IN THE FINAL RANK
Sailing; Formia, Italian Championship, class 470: the Čupa sailors Jaš Farneti and Simon Sivitz Košuta (in the photo) were first among the Juniors, which was their goal, and seventh in the final rank (Juniors and Seniors).
